About Us
We are a group of students from several faculties with one goal of pushing forward climate protection at TUD. We are independent of university structures and parties and not bound to organizations, companies or other interest groups. Our organizational structure is directly democratic with flat hierarchies. Racism, Sexism, Xenophobia and Discrimination are neither accepted by us nor tolerated on the campsite. We profess stringent non-violence.
Mission
The basic idea of a climate camp is a form of activism popular with Fridays for Future in the last couple of years. We want to continue with this idea and try out a new form of action at TUD to remember the slogan „Climate Change is real. Everyone needs to act. TUD starts now!“. Together with all of TU Dresden's participants we want to bring this slogan to life and fill it with activities. TU Dresden already started to implement reforms and new measures, like the reorganization of the committee for the environment. However, we think it misses tangible strategies and the actual execution of the ideas at our university.
Vision
A climate camp is a good possibility to call attention to the climate crisis locally. Moreover, there are not always opportunities for fundamental discussions within the weekly plena or monthly university policy conferences. This is exactly the kind of space we want to create on-site. Volunteer engagement and networking were and still are considerably complicated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That's why our climate camp is meant to be a low-threshold offer for people who do not yet know a lot about the climate crisis as well as those who already collected experiences and knowledge. With this we want to enable new encounters and unleash more motivation and energy for volunteer engagement.
